In a continued effort to cushion residents against the rising cost of living, the Singapore government has announced the rollout of the latest Community Development Council (CDC) voucher tranche. Starting from May, every Singaporean household is eligible to claim S$500 worth of digital CDC vouchers. The S$500 voucher package is split into two equal portions. One half, amounting to S$250, can be redeemed at participating supermarkets. These include Cold Storage, Giant Singapore, HAO Mart, NTUC FairPrice, Prime Supermarket, Sheng Siong, Ang Mo Supermarket, and U Stars Supermarket. In addition to supermarkets, participating heartland merchants and hawkers can be easily identified through the distinctive teal CDC decal, while supermarkets display a yellow version.
As of May 12, an impressive 97.3 percent of households had already claimed their January tranche of CDC vouchers, and over S$324 million worth of those vouchers had been spent. Overall, since the launch of digital CDC vouchers in 2021, more than S$1.92 billion has been transacted, with more than S$1.06 billion spent at hawkers and heartland merchants alone.
Digital Claim Process Offers Ease and Accessibility

From May 13 onwards, households can visit go.gov.sg/cdcv to claim their digital vouchers using Singpass. Once a household has successfully claimed their vouchers, a unique redemption link will be sent via SMS from “gov.sg.” This link can be easily shared with other household members for use at participating outlets.
Notably, no physical notification letters will be issued for this tranche as part of Singapore’s push towards digital sustainability. Residents should also take note that the May 2025 voucher link differs from the one issued in January 2025, and care should be taken to avoid confusion or fraud.
Assistance Channels Available for Less Digitally Savvy Residents
The voucher claim system includes comprehensive support for those unfamiliar with digital processes. Community Clubs (CCs), SG Digital Community Hubs, and roving assistance counters will be activated to provide technical help and guidance. Seniors and individuals with disabilities will receive priority service at these locations to ensure that everyone can access their entitlements.
In the first week of the scheme’s launch, over 200 volunteers from various institutions such as Nanyang Polytechnic, Hwa Chong Institution, and ITE College Central will assist residents alongside CDC ambassadors. For the first time, public agency staff volunteers are also participating in this effort, reinforcing a spirit of national service and outreach.
Continuing Digital Literacy Efforts Across the Island
The SG Digital Office will play an important role in supporting digital inclusion efforts throughout this initiative. From May 13 to May 26, its Digital Ambassadors and Silver Infocomm Wellness Ambassadors will be deployed at CCs, conducting educational outreach and guiding residents through voucher redemption. These efforts will continue beyond the initial period, with digital skill support available at 36 community hubs and more than 200 mobile counters across Singapore.
Workshops and learning journeys are also planned to promote broader digital literacy, equipping residents with skills not only to claim CDC vouchers but also to manage other essential online services in their daily lives.
S$665 Million in Potential Spending to Benefit Local Economy
This voucher round is expected to generate approximately S$665 million in spending within local communities. Participating merchants, especially small businesses in hawker centres and heartland shops, stand to benefit from the increased traffic and spending that the scheme stimulates. As more vendors embrace digital payment systems, they will also gain from smoother transactions and improved customer experiences.
Prime Minister Wong expressed optimism about the growing participation in the CDC voucher program. He noted that each successive tranche has seen more merchants joining the platform, strengthening the program’s reach and efficiency. The success of the scheme is seen as a testament to Singapore’s ability to adapt to digital-first economic strategies while maintaining inclusive support frameworks.
Safeguarding Residents Against Digital Scams
Authorities have issued clear reminders that the CDC voucher process does not require bank login details or money transfers. Individuals should remain vigilant against scams, and those receiving suspicious messages related to “gov.sg” or voucher links are advised to contact the People’s Association or use the ScamShield Helpline at 1799.
Ensuring the integrity and security of this digital voucher scheme remains a top priority, with active collaboration between government bodies and community partners to prevent fraud and protect residents.
Forward-Looking Support Measures Beyond CDC Vouchers
While the CDC vouchers are a vital pillar of the government’s support strategy, additional measures are also being rolled out in parallel. Families can benefit from LifeSG credits, Edusave top-ups, and U-Save rebates, while adult Singaporeans will receive SG60 vouchers amounting to S$600 in July, and seniors aged 60 and above will receive S$800.
A typical family of four with young children may receive support totalling around S$5,000 this financial year. These integrated policies reflect the government’s multi-pronged approach to building economic resilience and strengthening social safety nets amid uncertain global trends.
